The Seven Waterfalls Trail is one of the most beautiful and unique hiking trails in Istria. This circular trail is about 14 km long and follows the course of the Mirna River, leading us through narrow canyons, forest paths, and past seven waterfalls that come one after another.
Each waterfall has its own personality — from soft, gentle cascades to impressive cliffs where the water crashes down with real force, especially in spring when the water level is at its highest.
The trail is varied and dynamic. Most of the time we walk right along the river, but there's also one climb out of the canyon that's a bit more demanding. There's a safety cable installed on that section to make the ascent secure. In some areas the terrain can be slippery or muddy, especially after rain, and at times we walk over loose rocks, which gives the whole tour a proper hiking feel.
It's exactly this mix of easy forest sections and more challenging parts that makes the trail exciting — and incredibly rewarding.
Along the way, we pass the remains of old watermills, a reminder of the rich history of this area and the life that once revolved around the river. The pace is always adapted to the group, with plenty of breaks for resting, taking photos, and simply enjoying nature.
This isn't just a walk — it's an experience where we discover wild, green Istria together, far from the crowds and noise.
If you want to experience nature in its raw, authentic form and really feel the energy of water, rock, and forest, join me on the Seven Waterfalls Trail and let me show it to you the way I see it — as one of the most special stories of Istria.
